Patrick Pitt
Pat served the British Police Service with
distinction for 30 years, mainly with Hampshire Constabulary.
When he retired he held the rank of Chief
Superintendent. During his service he worked within most fields
of operational police work, including Criminal Intelligence,
Special Operations, Commercial Fraud, Narcotics and Counter
Terrorism.
Operational criminal investigation was his
forte throughout his career.

In addition to his wide operational experience he
received training as a project manager from a prestigious
consultancy firm. He defined the Hampshire Police IT strategy,
designing and delivering operational services for this large
police force.
Pat worked with several UK National Police IT organisations
including the definition and justification of the UK Police
national network. He has published material on the subject of
Police IT. He was visiting lecturer at the British Police Staff
College and lectured law enforcement seminars overseas.
Since leaving the police he has been the life-cycle programme
manager for a unique and highly successful consortium of 34
British Police forces. This was the largest scene of crime mark
searching system operating worldwide.
Pat now lives in Washington State, USA, from where he
coordinates his work in law enforcement technical projects,
contract negotiation support and litigation support.

Ron Wright BA
Ron is a graduate of the British Open University holding a BA in
Psychology, Human Geography and Sociology. Ron
served for thirty years with the Northumbria Police Force. His
background is mainly within the CID throughout his service, he
has an extensive background of investigating serious crime.
When
he retired he held the rank of Detective Chief Inspector and was
head of the Northumbria Police Fraud Squad.

Whilst head of the Fraud Squad he dealt with the largest fraud
perpetrated on the Internet, which cost a certain
telecommunications company in excess of $17 million and involved
perpetrators in the USA and every country within the EEC.
When Ron retired from the Police he joined the AFR Consortium
Service Team. Ron was the Deputy Operations Manager for the AFR
Consortium for 6 years, until the cessation of the contract with
specific responsibility for global security, data protection and
overseas training.
The service provided by the AFR Consortium was a success story
unparalleled in the history of British policing. The Consortium
central site in Tacoma, Washington, was a reference site for an
ever-increasing number of countries and foreign police forces
acquiring the software upon which the service was based.

Francis T. "Fran"
Buraczynski, B.A.
Fran graduated from the University of South
Carolina with a BA in Journalism. He worked as a reporter for
WIS-TV in South Carolina covering the full spectrum of
journalistic assignments.
In 1981 he worked with the Lexington County
Hospital producing and directing 14 major medical productions.
In 1982 he moved to South Carolina Electric & Gas Company with
responsibility for producing training videos at a Nuclear Power
Station. |
In 1989 he moved on to motion picture production in South
Carolina where he still works as a producer/director. He has
produced law enforcement material for, among others FBI, DEA and
US Coast Guard. For the past 13 years he has produced “Legal
Update”, a production to inform South Carolina law officers of
changes in law, court cases and new technology. This was
nominated for a Peabody Award for Excellence in Television.
In 1993 he qualified as a law enforcement officer at the
Criminal Justice Academy and was commissioned by the State of
South Carolina and remained commissioned until 1998.
He has had a distinguished journalistic career spanning over 30
years. He has experience in television production, including law
enforcement, commercial broadcasting, public relations and
industrial television. |

Alan Goldsmith BA (Hons) QPM
Alan attended Manchester University where he was awarded a BA (Hons)
in Philosophy in 1971. On graduation he joined a major food
producer.
He joined Norfolk Police in 1974, where he served in a variety
of posts including heading the force Special Branch. He was
responsible for setting up the Norfolk Computer Team. |

In 1985 he transferred to Cheshire Police where
he worked as a Sub Divisional and Divisional Commander and as
Head of Administration. He returned to Norfolk where he was
appointed Assistant Chief Constable Operations. He was awarded
the Queens’ Police Medal in 1999.
During his latter service he lectured for the
Ministry of Defense, the Emergency Planning College and the
Police Staff College. He presented evidence to the House of
Commons Defense Select Committee regarding the national response
to terrorism. Alan was a member of the Association of Chief
Police Officers Emergency Procedures Committee from 1961 until
2004.
Following the events of September 11th 2001,
Alan led the police service on consequence management issues
arising from terrorist attacks. His experience and knowledge are
widely recognized in the emergency planning community and he is
still regularly consulted by the Government and other agencies. |

Roderick J Hudson, BA (Hons)
Rod has a fine academic background upon which he
built his current professional career. He studied business
management at Dudley College of Technology. He was awarded a BA
(Hons) in American Studies by the University of Wales in 1990
additionally studying Philosophy and multiculturalism. |

He gained a postgraduate diploma in computer
science in 1991. He next attended Birmingham Polytechnic
studying Project Management, Market Evaluation and Presentation
Skills. In 1994 he attended Sutton Coldfield College gaining a
certificate in counseling skills.
For the past 18 years he has worked as a Fingerprint Officer
with the Dorset Police during which time he gained expert
status. He is currently still serving with the Dorset Police.
During his varied police service he has qualified as an AFR
operator. In 1999 he was selected as a member of the seven-man
Automatic Fingerprint Recognition Consortium ‘Mark Operations’
team, working from the AFR base in Tacoma, USA. In this latter
capacity he helped substantially to provide the unique and
highly successful 24/7 identification service to the British
police.
He is widely experienced in all aspects of fingerprint
comparison and identification work and is a certified
mark/latent expert, highly experienced in AFIS systems. |

Brian Humphreys
Brian served in the British Police service
for 30 years with the West Mercia Constabulary. He served at all
ranks mainly with the Criminal Investigation Branch.
During his career he served as Staff
Officer to Her Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary allowing him
unique insight into the broad working of the police service
nationally.
At the time of his retirement he was the Chief
Superintendent in Charge of Operations and Traffic Departments for West Mercia. |

During his service he specialized in internal
and external reviews both of a criminal and disciplinary nature.
He is a trained hostage negotiator and following on from this
responsibility he was selected to be the police liaison officer
with the British military. He worked closely with British
Special Forces during national terrorist exercises.
On leaving the police service he worked as an independent
consultant with the Automatic Fingerprint Recognition Consortium
(AFR) promoting and implementing the service within English and
Welsh police forces.
Brian played a leading role in the implementation of a similar
AFR project in the Caribbean Islands, where he worked closely
with Interpol. He worked with a team in Seattle, USA regarding
litigation concerning the software company contracted to the
fingerprint system. |

Peter Linden Jones

Peter served in the British Police service for 32
years, serving with Cheshire Constabulary in operations and
Criminal Investigation from the rank of Constable to the rank of
Acting Assistant Chief Constable.
He served as a Divisional Commander and for a time
was Staff Officer to Her Majesties Inspector of Constabulary.
In 1995 he was appointed Assistant Chief Constable with
Hampshire Constabulary, ultimately taking responsibility for all
support services. He served with the inter-services Security
Committee (Army, Navy and Air Force.) |

He was
responsible for the UK police strategy to deal with criminal and
terrorist threats from the use of chemical, biological,
radiological and nuclear agents.
Since leaving the police service he has worked as a consultant
for the European Commission regarding assistance to Albania in
the fields of incident management and organized crime. He has
lectured to senior police officers in Muscat, Oman on the
subject of organized and major crime investigation. He has
worked in Seattle in a contract arbitration case. He is an
associate lecturer at the British Police Staff College.
Peter holds a BA in Politics and Sociology, attended the Senior
Command Course and has attended the FBI National Academy at
Quantico.

Brian Dunn
Brian served with the Carlisle City Police, Cumbria Police and
Greater Manchester Police in a career spanning 30 years.
He held every rank within the Criminal
Investigation Department but also served in various uniformed
capacities. When he retired he held the rank of Detective Chief
Superintendent. For ten years he was Branch
Commander with the Regional Crime Squad |
specialising in serious crime and surveillance operations. During
this period he taught surveillance techniques as the chief
instructor on training courses.
He finished his service in Manchester at which time he held the
rank of Detective Chief Superintendent in charge of all CID
support services controlling a staff of around 900 police
officers and civilian employees. He was then seconded to the AFR
Consortium in its formative period.
On retiring from the service he joined the AFR Consortium as an
Area Manager and Security/Audit Officer in England, Wales and
Tacoma, USA. On retiring from full time employment he worked as
a researcher and statistical analyst for the Consortium
Prior to police service Brian was in the Royal Naval Medical
Service. Since retirement he has become the President of a
Valuation Tribunal in Manchester and chairs two local government
Standards Committees.

Guy had an excellent academic background at
school where he covered a wide range of subjects some of which
were art-orientated. He took an Art Foundation Course. His
studies were channeled towards photographic subjects, which he
was able to utilize in his later life. |

He joined Lancashire Constabulary in 1991 after
completing his studies. He began his police service as a
Photographic Technician having already attained a National
Diploma in Photography. Whilst serving with the Lancashire force
he studied for and obtained a City and Guilds qualification in
Television and Video production.
In 1994 he was appointed a Fingerprint Officer. He was awarded
‘Expert’ status as a fingerprint officer in 1994. He is a member
for the Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners.
He remained with Lancashire Constabulary as a fingerprint
officer until 2004 having experienced all aspects of fingerprint
orientated police work. For more than three years he worked as
part of a divisional scenes of crime team dealing with all
aspects of crime investigation. He is a certified mark/latent
expert, highly experienced in AFIS systems
Since February 2004 he has been self-employed as a fingerprint
expert offering his wide range of skills commercially. |
