Brian Dunn
Brian served with the Carlisle City Police, Cumbria Police and Greater Manchester Police in a career spanning 30 years.
He held every rank within the Criminal Investigation Department but also served in various uniformed capacities. When he retired he held the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent.
For ten years he was Branch Commander with the Regional Crime Squad
specialising in serious crime and surveillance operations. During this period he taught surveillance techniques as the chief instructor on training courses.
He finished his service in Manchester at which time he held the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent in charge of all CID support services controlling a staff of around 900 police officers and civilian employees. He was then seconded to the AFR Consortium in its formative period.
On retiring from the service he joined the AFR Consortium as an Area Manager and Security/Audit Officer in England, Wales and Tacoma, USA. On retiring from full time employment he worked as a researcher and statistical analyst for the Consortium
Prior to police service Brian was in the Royal Naval Medical Service. Since retirement he has become the President of a Valuation Tribunal in Manchester and chairs two local government Standards Committees.
