Guy Maxwell John Kitchen Guy had an excellent academic background at school where he covered a wide range of subjects some of which were art-orientated. He took an Art Foundation Course. His studies were channeled towards photographic subjects, which he was able to utilize in his later life. He joined Lancashire Constabulary in 1991 after completing his studies. He began his police service as a Photographic Technician having already attained a National Diploma in Photography. Whilst serving with the Lancashire force he studied for and obtained a City and Guilds qualification in Television and Video production. In 1994 he was appointed a Fingerprint Officer. He was awarded ‘Expert’ status as a fingerprint officer in 1994. He is a member for the Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners. He remained with Lancashire Constabulary as a fingerprint officer until 2004 having experienced all aspects of fingerprint orientated police work. For more than three years he worked as part of a divisional scenes of crime team dealing with all aspects of crime investigation. He is a certified mark/latent expert, highly experienced in AFIS systems Since February 2004 he has been self-employed as a fingerprint expert offering his wide range of skills commercially.
